Pretty Eyez!
Makeup tips for glasses
Girls with glasses should stick to light, shimmery eye make–up rather than brights or dark colours. Look for bronzes, golds, baby pinks and beige.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner that's winged at the outer edges of your eyes looks cool for night. Draw the line against your upper lashes only and flick it up slightly at the edges. Use a black or brown pencil depending on your skintone.
Sleepy eyes
Late nights, stress, poor diet show up around the eyes first. Good puff-deflators: cold compresses; plenty of shut-eye; sleeping with head slightly elevated to keep fluid from collected in eye sockets overnight.
Clash your colours
Wear eyeshadows that clash with your eyecolour rather than match it. A contrast in colours will highlight your eyes and liven up your face.
Smouldering Eyes
Dark eye–make–up is making a comeback this season. Think smouldering like Katie Holmes and Jennifer Love Hewitt, but not as Goth as Cristina Ricci. Invest in a soft charcoal eye–pencil to create your own dark eyes.
Multi-purpose pencils!
Multi–use pencils with dual ends are the bomb! Two shades in the one stick that you can use for eyes, lips and cheeks are why they rock. Check out Red Earth and Revlon StreetWear Jumbo Pencils.
Eye–colour
Go for subtle, earthy colours if you're bright–shy. Moss greens, coral orange, rust and sandy gold's with a little shimmer are your best bet.
Eye shadows plus more!
How Sweet! Beauty products are more than just face paint. The newest eye shadows have cooling properties to soothe your eyelids, and most lip glosses are lip-smacking with flavour. Try cooling eye shadows from Maybelline and Cover Girl and yummy glosses from Red Earth.
Red and gold
Red and gold go well together, so if you're planning on wearing gold eye shadow, self-tan or bronzer, paint your nails with red polish and wear sheer red gloss on your lips. Revlon and Poppy have a wide selection of reds.
Stunning shimmer
Shimmer is more fashionable than glitter at the moment. You don't need to look like a life-sized disco ball, so save the glitter for fancy dress nights, and use cream or powder shimmer products on your body and face to make you sparkle. Try Bloom, Australis, Natio, L'Oreal and Revlon StreetWear.

Shimmer into Spring
Heavy glitter has lost its lustre, and this season is all about having a subtle glow. The difference between glitter and shimmer is that glitter particles are larger and holographic, whilst shimmer particles are more refined and contained in powder or creams.
Berry delight
Double up on your make-up and save cash. Wine and berry colours can be used on eyelids as well as lips. Overseas fashion shows recently featured models with all different skin tones wearing berry on their eyelids. The trick is to smooth the colour onto your lower eyelid and blend in just above the crease of your eye.
Eyeliner rules
Eyeliner can be worn on either top or bottom lashes or both. Draw the line on top of your upper lashes and underneath your lower lashes (not in the inside rim). Copy catwalk model style by wearing brightly coloured eyeliner on your lower lashes only.
Gold fever
Gold (like the real rock, not yellow) is a cool colour to wear this season. Wear it on eyelids to add an exotic touch, cheekbones to highlight the shape of your face, in the centre of your lips to make them look bigger, and on your body as bronzer to give yourself a sun-kissed glow.
Lime Green Eyes
Lime green is a cool colour to wear on eyes. Look for cream types or shimmery shades and smooth them on your eyelid and into the crease. Lime green will brighten up blue, hazel and brown eyes; team it with glossy pinks on lips.
Cool Pastel Eyes
If bold, bright eye make-up is not for you, search for cool, pastel shades. You can get some cheapies from Red Earth, Cover Girl, Miki and Maybelline.
Colour Your World
Go for extreme colour — if you're going to add a dash of colour, make it wild. Bold purples, blues, greens and golds are great, and you can get them from Napoleon, MAC and Red Earth.
After School Cool
Revamp your look after school by adding colour to your cheeks and eyes. Carry a few cream make-up pots in your schoolbag and smear 'em on with your fingertips.
Crazy Eyes
For super-sassy eyes, wear a bright shade of eye shadow on your eyelids and coat your lashes with a different-coloured mascara. Yellow and pink looks funky, blue and green blends in well and purple with yellow is crazy.
Natural Lashes
If you don't want your lashes to look like the''ve been loaded with mascara, either sweep the brush—end of an eyebrow comb through them or use Cover Girl Natural Lash Enhancer, which only lightly tints lashes.
Just Add Water
Just add water for dramatic eye make-up. Wet/dry eye shadow palettes and eyeliners are fab. Dip the applicator in water before applying for cool, cat-like eyes and wicked block colour. Try Revlon or Estée Lauder wet/dry make-up.
Look Sweet in Soft Hues
Pretty make-up colours look sweet. Look for soft corals, baby pinks, roses and light berries. Wear them on your eyelids with some brown or grey eyeliner and on your lips with a smudge of gloss on top.
Fairy Floss Looks
Think fairy floss, popcorn and fizzy stuff — this month your eyes and nails should be sporting pretty pastel shades, like pink, yellow, blue, mint and lilac. Get it on with powder eyeshadows, cream eyeshadows, chubby pencils and lolly-coloured polishes
Golden Eyes
Go for golden shades on your eyelids, as they suit all skin tones. Shimmery powders make your eyes appear larger. When using a loose shimmery powder, apply it with a brush to keep it neat and blend it in.
Cool Eye Colours
The hottest colours to wear on eyes this season are tangy oranges, rose, cherry, baby blue, mint and violet. Test out a few and find the one that suits best.
Lash Out!
Long, fat silky eyelashes are what you want. Girls with fair lashes should wear brown mascara, while girls with darker hair colour should use brown or black. Pick one with lengthening and thickening properties.
Go Shiny!
Mix your make-up colours with Vaseline or clear lip gloss to give it a new shiny look. Mix it on the back of your hand and apply to eyes, lips and cheeks.
Punk Eyes
A smudgy black eyeliner is essential to any punk or rock-chick look. Play up your eyes by lining it thick and smudging it with the sponge-tipped end. Go for softer pencils or blast your normal pencil with a hairdryer to soften it.
Gypsy Colours
Gypsy colours like blue denim, red and aqua look mad on eyes. Wear them on your eyelids and smudge some underneath your lower lashes. Team them up with feathered accessories, leather strips or beading.
2000 Make-up
Get stylin' into the year 2000 and create a new make-up look for yourself. Colour is cool but so are neutrals, so pick what works for you and play up your eyes or lips.
Bushy Eyebrows
If your brows are looking too bushy and you don't have time for a plucking session, mist some hairspray or hair gel on an eyebrow comb or toothbrush and gently comb them up and out to smooth them down.
Summer Eyes
We love all kinds of coloured eye make-up this summer. Play with everything and show some attitude. Coloured mascaras look great with bare eyes, vibrant eyeshadows look cool with black mascara, smudgy eyeliners look mad teamed with sherbet shades, and cream shadows always look hip.
Go Violet
Violet is the hottest colour this month. Get it on your eyes with powder eyeshadows, cream eyeshadows, pencils and coloured mascaras. Wear it on your nails in bold, bright shades, but steer clear of it on lips.
Doll Up for the New Year!
Party into the next millennium with cool make-up. Do something different; play up your eyes in wacky ways with coloured eyeliners, mascaras, false eyelashes, glitter and gems. Pat your eyelids with some powder before and after applying to help it stay on.
Go Grey
Get into grey. If black and brown eyeliner and shadow looks too dark on your face, try grey. Blend grey eyeshadow on your eyelids or smudge some silver eyeliner on top and underneath your lashes.
Colour Vibes!
Go graphic. Instead of wearing block colour on your eyelids, draw a line of vibrant colour just at the outer corner of your lashes and dab some shimmer in the inner sockets of your eye.
Eyeshadow to Eyeliner
Make your eyeshadow into an eyeliner. Simply wet an eyeshadow brush, dip it into your eyeshadow and draw a line on your eyelids. To make it glossy, dip your eyeshadow brush in Vaseline instead.
Shaping Eyebrows
Avoid over-plucking your eyebrows by using a white eye pencil to highlight the hairs that need to be removed, and then plucking them out one by one.
Intense Eyes
Intense-looking eye make-up looks mad. Now's the time to go crazy and show some attitude. Aqua eyelids, turquoise smudges, lilac lines, purple lashes — add splashes of colour to your lids any way you can or want!
